Half-hearted Mess
there aren’t many agile thinkers anymore, and even fewer want to be brave. Your C-average is someone’ else’s hard-earned A-effort. Breaking you of your nonsense requires another equally agile, courageous thinker to help you stop the habit.
Problem is, there aren’t many agile thinkers anymore, and even fewer want to be brave.
So, we’re all currently shoveling a lot of shit; the flotsam and jetsam of lukewarm efforts from powerful people turned to a putrid cesspool of chaos.
Half-assing it will absolutely lead to your regression, and to our collective regression as a human race. Lazy efforts dull your instincts. You will become so accustomed to the habit that you won’t be able to recognize the moments when you really need to step it up. At those moments in your life when it really matters, you’ll be too weak to bear what’s required of you. You’ll miss the mark and fail miserably. Meanwhile, other humans are left to figure out what to do with all the jagged little pieces you’ve left behind.
No, do not take on every task possible to struggle for perfection. But do choose your battles carefully. And when you’ve chosen the right battle, give it everything you have.
