Àṣẹ
“The àṣẹ (amen) is a form of power that is said to reside in all persons, objects, and even chants and incantations. In other words, it is the matter that defines and establishes the creative energy a person or thing possesses.
Furthermore, in African Traditional Religions, sacred words are incantations, curses, or blessings, ritual chants, markings, etc. that are uttered with reverence in connection to particular religions.” ¹
