Ready for Progress

All of this talk about being courageous for the challenge is important. Yet, it’s also just important to be emotionally ready for progress and success.

After huge traumas, it can be easy to fall in love with the struggle. That’s a different kind of self-sabatoge. Where you’re just too accustomed to the struggle, and inadvertently create difficulties for yourself that needn’t be there.

It can happen as part of our culture. Our backgrounds, family histories, even ancestral traumas can have us dawdling along in a milquetoast haze. Never all the way down. Yet, never quite getting anywhere either.

It gives us a story to tell our friends and families. About how we’re trying so hard. Life is so hard. Business is so hard. If our failure to see the light continues to set the upper limit, we will indeed live in darkness.

Darkness, sadness, pain can get easy. It’s low enough to the ground where anyone can reach it. It takes work to reach for the light. It takes falling in love with the warmth of it on your skin before you can feel it in order reach it. Finding an appreciation for love, joy, peace after a long road of pain and suffering can be it’s own difficulty. We have to be willing to get comfortable in the light. If there’s a comfort with the sad and the difficult, self-sabatoge will surely win over. Are you ready for clarity? Joy? Success? Peace?

You don’t have to be just yet. No need to force it. You just need to be open to receving it. Slowly but surely, the rest will take care of itself.
