The spirit that eats the living

You’ve been hurt. Life hurt you. Past experiences have hardened your heart.

But, one day you learned that you can leverage a bad experience to succeed and achieve things. As you get smarter and stronger, life’s trials become too easy to overcome. Peace can come effortlessly, yet you’re already addicted to drama. Peace doesn’t provide enough of a challenge to keep you satisfied.

So you manufacture challenges. You use people. Even those who love you become “haters” and enemies they never intended to be. You fashion people into hurdles that have to jumped, just so you can be the one to fly over them. And once you’ve planted your feet on the ground, you will rejoice in your false victory and claim that they were holding you back.

But the whole time, it was you.

Beware the demon inside that thrives on drama; that declares the innocent an enemy so that it can feast on their bones without guilt or retribution. It is a bottomless, fearless spirit. When there are no more innocents left, that same demon will feed on you.

Love and joy are far better fuel sources than the derivatives fear.
