Whispers & the Next Frontier
There’s a whisper whose sound has been carried through living rooms and hushed talks in low-lit cafes. Its sound until now has been muffled by the clanking of industrial factories, ATMs, and crypto apps as we trade our attention for cash.
That whisper continues to grow to a soft, audible moan as we continue to ignore whatever is ailing us.
What we are witnessing, not only in ourselves, but in society as a whole, is a subconscious resistance to our knowing that this is true: the next era in human evolution lies beyond the pain, suffering and aggravation that we continue to ignore in our daily lives.
We stuff our traumas, with our jobs. We use our children as an excuse to neglect our lovers and our lovers as an excuse to abandon our dreams. We chew our tails with steel resolve; all to avoid our deepest fear of having to be honest and pay attention to the right things. Afraid that someone may see this and think we are weak.
I’m not asking you overshare by breaking into tears at some inappropriately performative moment. We’ve gotten too savvy about just being vulnerable. We know how to pretend to do that — how to half-apologize and blame our “inner child”. This is looking your inner child straight in the eye and saying, “it’s time to grow up now”.
It’s looking at all the fake hard stuff you’re holding on to, in order to prevent dealing with the profound stuff that’s weighing you down.
“I’ve been wrong.”
“I overstepped a boundary.”
“I used someone or something to get what I want.”
“I ignored the warning signs.”
“I moved too swiftly.”
“I moved too slowly.”
“I cheated, I lied, and I’m sorry.”
There’s no sense in watching, perched on the edge of your seat to see where war or AI is going to take us. You wanna know what’s next? Your soul. Soul is the next frontier. Every act, every word we speak, hear, and think is being quantified, analyzed, and re-distributed to some infinite, unknown end. So if our psychologies are being commodified, the only tool we have left to ourselves is the very essence of who we are, and trust me, there are people working on getting to that too.
If we don’t want to be slaves to “what’s next”, then we need to clear this trash from the system. And that’s work that begins at the soul level. Clearing the fear and the lies makes room for love and truth. Then and only then will the soul be free to dance.
